Manus (operated by Butterfly Effect Pte. Ltd.) offers user-favorable content ownership terms — it does not claim ownership of user inputs or outputs. However, several vendor-favorable provisions create material risk: a perpetual, irrevocable license to use 'Your Content' to improve the Services, broad sharing of inputs with third-party AI providers who may not maintain confidentiality, no obligation to store or guarantee deletion of content, and silence on key security certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, etc.). The terms also disclaim liability broadly, impose binding arbitration and class-action waivers for US users, and route disputes to Singapore arbitration. Professional and regulated-industry users should review carefully and avoid submitting sensitive or proprietary data without a negotiated Master Services Agreement / Data Processing Agreement.
